Authorities in the Netherlands have confirmed that five people have died whilst surfing off the coast on Tuesday.
In an announcement authorities confirmed that the five experienced surfers tragically drowned after getting into difficulties whilst surfing of the Hague coast.
It is believed that the surfers got onto difficulties as strong winds caused waters to swell.
Authorities say the rescue mission was severely hampered as the swell creates a thick foam.
However sadly rescue teams recovered four bodies during the search, whilst a fifth body which was seen floating in the waters had drifted out of reach.
It is not yet known how the surfers got into difficulties, but authorities say an investigation is currently ongoing.
