The ticket touting scandal deepens tonight, after a long string of emails discussing the possible sale of Olympic tickets has emerged. According to Brazilian authorities, the emails circulated between disgraced OCI’s boss Pat Hickey and THG’s boss Marcus Evans, and dealt with the possible sale of Olympic tickets.

THG was the authorised ticket selling agent for the London Olympics in 2012. However, the company did not receive authorisation by Bralizian authorities to sell tickets for the Rio games. Yet, many tickets earmarked for the public ended up in the hands of THG, allegedly through the OCI.

Former OCI boss Pat Hickey was due to appear in court today, but this did not come to pass. He remains inside one of Brazil’s most notorious penitentiaries, Bangu Prison, pending further inquiries.
