The number of migrants applying for international protection without shelter stands at 408 this morning.

The ministry responsible said staff were making every effort on a daily basis to find emergency shelters, but were finding it extremely difficult to meet demand.

A spokesman for the Department for Children, Equality, Inclusion, Disability and Youth said that the international protection housing services are “operating at full capacity” and “the department is considering all offers of accommodation made to it”.

As of today’s close of business, there were 408 people without a government housing offer, up from 371 on Thursday evening.

An eight-week pregnant woman was taken home today after sleeping in a tent in Dublin city center for the past five nights.
