The bodies have been identified as those of Michelle O’Riordan, 27, originally from Mayfield, in Cork, and Patrick O’Driscoll, 53, from Skibbereen in West Cork.

The formal identification was helped by dental records.

No cause of death has been released, but it is understood the bodies showed no sign of violence. The tragic deaths are being treated as accidental.

The bodies were recovered from the water on Sunday night.

An inquest into the deaths will take place next year.
