Former police officer Derek Chauvin, who was charged with the murder of George Floyd, appeals his conviction.

The heinous murder of George Floyd in May 2020 in Minneapolis shocked the world and sparked riots both in the US and elsewhere. The perpetrator, Derek Chauvin, was sentenced to more than 22 years in jail last June.

Mr. Chauvin is the first white police officer in Minnesota to be convicted of killing a black man. He’s now appealing this conviction.
