Former religious building in Cork will no longer be used to accommodate Ukrainian refugees following protest

A former religious building in Cork will no longer be used to accommodate Ukrainian refugees following a protest by local residents.

The Dominican Fathers’ Ennismore retreat centre in Mayfield had been earmarked to house a number of refugees.

It is understood that this is no longer the case, and that the refugees’ ongoing suffering will be prolonged by being ferried elsewhere.
