Four Gardai sustained serious injuries while trying to arrest a man in Waterford city on Tuesday morning.
The man bit, kicked, and threatened the Gardai -three males, and one female- during the ensuing struggle.
The suspect was eventually subdued and taken into custody. The four Gardai were taken to hospital as a precaution, but were discharged soon after.
