Four people have been rescued from Lough Foyle, Co Donegal after their boat capsized, reports RTE.
The rescue operation was coordinated by Malin Head Marine Rescue Center and Belfast Coastguard this afternoon.
The alarm was raised when a personal locator beacon was activated after the 30-metre vessel sank, reports RTE.
Those on board were safely evacuated from the scene by the Greencastle Coastguard Unit and then airlifted to hospital by the R118 Search and Rescue helicopter based in Sligo.
Portrush lifeboats were also involved in the search along with other local units.
The four people on board were said to be “in good spirits” after their experience, reports RTE.
