The four young men, aged 16 and 17, broke out of the multi-million detention facility in north Dublin last night.

This is the fourth group of teenagers to stage a successful escape from the €36m detention centre.

According to reports, the four first assaulted staff with cutlery and broken furniture before using ladders to escape.

It is understood that one of the boys has since handed himself in. The other three remain at large.

Oberstown provides “secure” accommodation for young offenders, and can hold up to 60 children.
