Fourth medal for team Ireland at Rio Paralympics as Colin Lynch takes silver in C2 Men’s Time Trial

There was a fourth medal for ireland at the Paralympics earlier today as Colin Lynch claimed silver in the C2 Men’s Time Trial at Pontal.

The 45-year-old Canadian born, cyclist, whose father is from Drogheda, finished second behind Canada’s Tristen Chernove to give Ireland a second cycling medal at the games.

Lynch comfortably finished 15 seconds ahead of bronze medallist China’s Guihua Liang, although he finished 19 seconds behind Chernove, but the result marks a significant improvement since London 2012 when Lynch finished 5th and narrowly missing out on a medal.
