A freedom of information request from freepress.ie has revealed figures which appear to show Ireland’s hospital occupancy was well below average in 2020 compared to the previous three years during the height of the pandemic.

The report was created on the 24th of February 2021 and the data was sourced from Acute BIU Hospital metadata.

While the government suspended civil rights in an unprecedented Orwellian power grab to and the media repeatedly drummed the message that our hospitals were near breaking point into the public consciousness hospitals in the country were actually well below maximum capacity.

For example, in April 2020, the height of the pandemic, hospital occupancy in Ireland was at 61% compared to an occupancy level over 95% for the same month in the previous two years.

The shocking data is likely to be ignored however, by most major media outlets in the country who continue to defend the government’s narrative and Draconian lockdown.
