French President Emmanuel Macron is looking rather weak at the polls following his international ridicule talking to Vladimir Putin.
Mr. Macron seemingly saw himself as a cunning political operator who could rein in Putin. The Russian President had him sit at the end of a really long table while he talked, and Mr. Putin nodded along the Frenchman’s nonsense, giving Macron the impression that the Russian premier was actually listening. He then did whatever he wanted anyway.
Mr. Macron’s lead in the polls is now narrowing to Marine Le Pen, who has a good chance of winning against the man who wanted to ‘piss off the unvaccinated.’ In this at least, Mr. Macron succeeded, and he is likely to pay with his political life for the universal hatred his attitude generated.
