French President grants citizenship to hero ‘Spider man’ after he rescues boy hanging on to fourth floor balcony

A man who bravely risked his own life to rescue a young boy from falling from the fourth floor of an apartment building is to be given French citizenship.

The man Mamoudou Gassama, 22, who has become a viral sensation in recent days was rewarded for his bravery by the French President Emmanuel Macron, who described the Mr Gassama’s heroics as an exceptional act

Mr Gassama who is now dubbed ‘spider man’, has been praised by many all over the world after a video showing him rescuing the boy from a potentially fatal fall went viral.

In the pulsating video Mr Gassama is seen risking his life as he climbed up the balconies to rescue the four-year-old who was hanging on to a railing on the fourth floor.

Following a meeting with Mr Macron on Monday, Mr Gassama confirmed that the French government are willing to grant him with citizenship as reward for his brave actions.
