The French radio station RFI have apologised after they accidentally published a number of obituaries for celebrities who are thankfully still alive, including Britain’s Queen Elizabeth and the Brazilian football legend Pele.

Claiming that they had experienced a “technical problem” that caused the death notices to be published on its website today, the radio station said: “We offer our apologies to the people concerned and to you who follow and trust us.

“We are mobilising to rectify this major bug,” said the Twitter account of RFI, with many people jeering them as a result of the “error”.
