Breakthrough: Fresh hope for millions with Type 1 diabetes as scientists develop a pill that could put an end to injections

Millions of people with Type 1 diabetes have been given fresh hope after scientists have developed a pill that treat the illness.

In ground breaking research, scientists have developed a pill that could potentially potentially treat the illness without the need for needles.

Although it may be sometime before the drug is introduced to the general market, researchers at Massachusetts Institute of Technology have revealed that they have developed a drug that has shown positive results in pigs.

It is understood the revolutionary drug works by releasing microneedles that attaches themselves to the intestinal wall before the drug enters the blood stream.

According to lead researchers the drug is the first successful attempt at developing an oral treatment for the condition and it could potentially help millions with other conditions in the future.

Although a number of attempts to introduce an oral treatment have been made in the past, previous drug induced treatment methods have repeatedly failed as the drug is released into a patient’s system too fast.
