Just over two months on, it really is looking like the war in Ukraine isn’t going to end any time soon. Both sides seem as entrenched in the conflict as they did on February 24th.
Perhaps the only real difference now is that Russia is issuing real threats to the Western World should they interfere in he special operation that’s ongoing in the region.
Russia has ramped up its attacks on eastern and southern Ukraine as President Vladimir Putin has threatened quick retaliation against any western country that interferes on Ukraine’s behalf.
After two months of the invasion, Russia has launched a campaign to seize two eastern provinces in a battle the West sees as a turning point in the war.
“The enemy is increasing the pace of the offensive operation. The Russian occupiers are exerting intense fire in almost all directions,” said the Ukrainian military leadership on the situation on the main front in the east.
He said Russia’s main attack took place near the cities of Slobozhanske and Donets, along a strategic front-line highway connecting Ukraine’s second-largest city, Kharkiv, with the Russian-held city of Izyum.
