Dr Orla Crosbie was interviewed this week on the Maura and Daithi show on RTE this week about the possibility of women, in particular, getting cancer as a result of their alcohol consumption.
Orla is a liver specialist and really put no tooth in it when she claimed that women are more suspectable to liver cancer because they’re physically smaller than men but consume levels as high if not higher than men.
Dr Crosbie frighteningly described women who had cirrhosis of the liver at the young age of 40 and even below.
She continued that women who drink just one or two glasses of wine a day are increasing their chances of cancer by a shockingly high 40%.
