Ireland’s winless run continues tonight as they were defeated 1-0 by a young Welsh side in Dublin.

In a game were a win was very much needed, Martin O’Neill’s men once again come short and now look odds on to finish bottom of their UEFA Nations League group.

Although the team’s performance was much improved following Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Denmark, the boy’s in green were undone by a moment of brilliance by Wales Harry Wilson.

The Derby County man who is looking a bright prospect for Ryan Giggs and his Welsh team, effectively won the game with a superb free kick on the 57th minute.

Ireland who created a number of chances were made to pay as the lack of a real finisher proved ever so evident in front of a underwhelmed Aviva crowd.

Martin O’Neill’s men will now have to pick up a win in Denmark to avoid relegation from the league.
