From today, car owners who allow learner drivers to use a vehicle unaccompanied will face fines or possibly even jail time.
All the L-Drivers out there can blame good old Minister for Transport Shane Ross who claims that the new laws will save lives, but one has to question how exactly he has come to that conclusion?
Car owners who fall foul of the new legislation may be fined up to €1,000, spend up to 6 months in jail, or have their vehicle seized.
