At Kedagh Moore’s funeral today, his grieving family said him a heartbreaking farewell, reports The Mirror.

Kedagh, 16, was killed last Sunday when he was hit by a car while walking home from a friend’s house in Robertstown, County Kildare, at 12.30 a.m.

For the funeral Mass at 11 a.m., his mother Glenda, father John, and sister Sadhbh led the mourners into the Church of Our Lady and Saint Joseph in Prosperous, reports The Mirror.

When the incident happened, Kedagh was strolling along the R403 in Blackwood, close to Robertstown.

On Tuesday, one man showed up for court, reports The Mirror.

Athy District Court accused Marin Silaghi, a man in his 40s who lived in Ballybrittas, Portlaoise, Co Laois, with two crimes.

He was charged with hit-and-run and failure to stop at the scene under the Road Traffic Act, reports The Mirror.

Today’s online book of condolences for Kedagh continues.

One read: “Deepest sympathy Glenda, John, Sadhbh and the extended family. Our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. RIP Kedagh,” reports The Mirror.

It said: “The loss of such a terrific young man has left the club with a heartache that is felt by all our members,” reports The Mirror.
