Thug in Cork jailed for over 17 years for sexaul assaulting his own four daughters

For the rape and sexual abuse of four of his children, a man in his 40s received a 17-and-a-half-year prison sentence, reports RTE.

The guy entered a guilty plea to many sample counts on an indictment that had 128 charges, and the punishment was handed down at the Central Criminal Court in Cork.

Although sexual assaults accounted for the majority of the charges, rape, oral rape, and attempted rape were also included.

To preserve his victims’ privacy, the man’s identity is unknown, reports RTE.

The man’s kids were as young as seven and nine years old when the offences took place, which spans over 16 years, from 2005 to 2021.

The court was informed that Tusla, a child and family agency, became involved after one of the man’s daughters verified facts of the abuse in 2012.

According to the court, the guy threatened to hurt himself after being ordered to leave the house, which caused a lot of distress in the family, reports RTE.

After withdrawing her complaint, the girl was “forced” to apologise to her abuser. This made her even more agitated and had an impact on her mental health.

The abuse subsequently resumed and persisted for a number of years, the court was informed, reports RTE.

In 2021, Tusla discovered the abuse once more and reported it to the gardaí. A Protective Services Unit at a garda division in County Cork looked into the issue.

The individual was taken into custody, interrogated, and charged.

He accepted the State’s case against him in full for all 128 counts on the indictment when he received a letter last month stating that he would be entering a guilty plea on a full facts basis, reports RTE.
