More commuter misery is predicted in the capital this coming summer, as seven Luas stops will be out of service to facilitate construction work on the trams’ new Cross City service.

The stops affected include Abbey Street, Busáras, Connolly, George’s Dock, Mayor Square – NCI, Spencer Dock and The Point.

The closure will be in effect from 9pm on May 21 until the end of July. A bus service will be introduced to ferry passengers affected by the stops closure.

Work on the new Cross City service is expected to be completed by 2017.
