About 6,000 Dunnes workers manned picket lines across 109 Dunnes Stores branches nationwide today. Staff are asking for more stable working hours and better conditions.
Representatives for the Mandate trade union have said that further action is likely, if management at Dunnes insist in refusing to engage with them in ‘meaningful’ talks.
The union says the use of low-hour and temporary contracts is commonplace in Dunnes.
