The nations secondary school students could be set to miss further classes in the coming weeks ahead, after the teachers union the ASTI have been urged to reject the current pay offer on the table.
The news which could see the possibility of further school closure comes after the union’s standing committee informed chiefs that the current offer of a pay increase and suitable working conditions does not meet their demands.
Although round the table talks continued today it is believed the latest offer by The Department of Education will be overwhelmingly rejected in the coming days ahead.
However it s not yet known if the union will schedule further strike action, many sources close to the union say there is a strong possibility if their demands are not met.
