There was further tragedy on Irish roads on Thursday as a woman aged in her 80s sadly passed away following a road traffic incident in Co Galway.

It is understood the woman who was a passenger sadly died following a two vehicle collision in Kilrickle near Loughrea.
Gardaà say the woman who was taken to a hospital Ballinasloe sadly passed away shortly after the incident.
They also say the other occupants were taken to Portiuncula Hospital for treatment on minor injuries.
An investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
