Galaxy Note 7 woes: Customers report issues with their replacement units

Seems like the new Galaxy Note 7 device is turning out to be a bit of a curse for its maker.

Once flagged as an industry leader and a ‘must-have’ item, Samsung’s new toy made headlines worldwide almost immediately after going on sale, with some one hundred users reporting exploding batteries, and posting pictures of the charred remains of their new device online.

Samsung quickly issued a worldwide recall and engaged in a replacement programme, though the damage had been done at that stage. The issue of exploding batteries shaved a sizeable chunk off the company’s market value.

And it looks as though Samsung’s woes continue, as customers who have swapped their devices for new ones are also reporting issues now.

It appears that some units are overheating and losing power while charging. Samsung says it is a ‘separate issue’ related to ‘mass production.’
