Game over: John Delaney has voluntarily offered to walk away from the FAI




John Delaney’s time at the FAI is officially over as the former CEO has voluntarily offered to walk away from the FAI board.

In an announcement made in the past hour the FAI confirmed that Mr Delaney will walk away from his current position as Executive Vice president pending the result of an independent investigation by the association.

The announcement comes as the  Honorary Secretary Michael Cody and Honorary Treasurer Eddie Murray, have also offered to resign from their respective roles.

According to RTÉ News, the FAI have said in a statement issued this evening that Mr Delaney has voluntarily offered to step aside”, pending the completion of an independent investigation into issues of concern to the board.

The statement also said that fellow board members Michael Cody and Eddie Murray, have also both voluntarily resigned.

Before adding the board is now working to reassure faith amongst supporters, sponsors and stakeholders by expediting all processes.
