Katie Taylor could potentially make history once again on June 1st as she will look to unify the lightweight division against Delfine Persoon.
In an official announcement promoters confirmed that the Bray native will face the Belgian at the iconic Madison Square Garden, New York as part of the undercard of the Anthony Jousha vs Jarred ‘Big Baby’ Miller fight.
Following on from her convincing victory over Rose Volante last month, Taylor will now be given the opportunity to add the WBC title to her IBF, WBA and WBO crowns.
However Taylor who is looking forward to the fight, said her upcoming opponent will be her toughest fight yet, in an interview with Sky Sports last month.
