He’s the world number one tennis player and he should be getting ready to start competing in this year’s Wimbledon, but alas Novak Djokovic is fighting coronavirus rather than opponents.
Djokovic defended his decision to hold tennis exhibitions in Belgrade, Serbia and Zadar, Croatia despite the continued prevalence of covid-19 around the world.
In April, Djokovic announced that he was an anti-vaxxer – and that a mandated vaccination programme would stop him returning to competitive tennis once the sport resumes after the coronavirus pandemic.
His wife, two people he works with and two other players also contracted coronavirus.
