Gang warfare: Paul Williams spoke candidly last night about the carnage from rival gangs

Crime reporter Paul Williams pulled no punches last night on the Late Late Show when interviewed about the rival Kinihan and Hutch gangs.

He went into details as to how the latest but most explosive gangland war was started. He depicted characters and specified the background to each member of the both families and their particular part in the ongoing fued.

Two funerals this week for both David Byrne said to be of the Kinahan side and Eddie Hutch, brother of retired bank robber Gerry “The Monk” Hutch.

Gardai are said to have increased their presence in the north part of the inner city with high alerts issued for Francis Street and Clontarf.

Meanwhile, the notorious criminal John Gilligan is said to be hiding out in the UK after an attempt was made on his life last year.
