Gardai in Co Donegal have confirmed that a number of checkpoints will be setup over the weekend as Level 3 restrictions come into force overnight.
In an announcement An Garda Siochana confirmed that a number of targeted checkpoints will be operational over the weekend.
It is understood that the checkpoints are being introduced in the interests of public safety.
Gardai say a number of crossborder checkpoints will be setup with the assistance of the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
