Gardai have confirmed that a number of checkpoints will be set up over the weekend as part of Operation Fanacht.
It is understood that a number of checkpoints will be setup in counties Laois, Offaly and Kildare in order to restrict free movement in and out of the affected counties.
Gardai say travel in and out counties will only be allowed for essential reasons.
The checkpoints come after a number of restrictions where placed on the three counties last week following a rise in Covid-19 cases.
