Garda Commissioner Drew Harris restricting his movements following close contact with Covid-19 case

The Garda Commissioner Drew Harris has confirmed that he is restricting his movements following close contact with a confirmed Covid-19 case.

In a statement Garda Headquarters confirmed that the commissioner was self isolating and will be working from home for 14 days.

Although Harris has tested negative for the virus over the weekend, it is believed that he held a one on one meeting with a Garda Officer who was asymptomatic.

Gardai say the officer who has tested positive has been granted sick leave, whilst fellow officers who were close contacts of the officer are restricting their movements and are working from home.
