The position of embattled Garda Commissioner Noirin O’Sullivan is becoming increasingly untenable, as she once again faces calls for her resignation.
Ms. O’Sullivan has been embroiled in several controversies over the last few months, relating to hundreds of breath tests for drink driving that never actually took place, and the garda whistleblower scandal, among others.
The latest outrage to rock Ms. O’Sullivan’s fragile stand is the uncovering of a number of financial irregularities at the Garda College in Templemore.
Fianna Fail and Sinn Fein have now issued calls for her resignation, stating that her position is ‘not tenable.’
