A Garda appeared before Dublin District Court in connection with an incident in which a Brazilian man lost part of his leg, reports RTE.
Neil Doyle, a Garda based in Dublin, has been charged with careless driving causing serious harm to Joao Henrique Ferreria at Junction 11 on the M50 in Tallaght in October 2023.
Barrister Lawrence Masterson, representing Mr Ferreria, informed the court that his client had travelled from Brazil to attend the proceedings and was eager for the case to move forward, reports RTE.
Mr Masterson, acting on instructions from solicitor Daniel Hughes, also noted that Mr Ferreria would soon undergo additional prosthetic surgery in Brazil.
Joao Henrique Ferreria, aged 25, was present in court today and used crutches. Judge Michéle Finan approved a disclosure order for the evidence to be handed over to Garda Doyle’s legal team.
The case is scheduled to return to court on 12 June, reports RTE.
