A Garda investigation is officially underway this morning after a15-year-old teenager was reportedly attacked with a slash hook in a Co. Clare on Wednesday.
The incident allegedly happened in Kilrush, Co. Clare, at around 5pm on Wednesday evening.
It is understood that the boy was travelling in a car with his mother, and they stopped at a petrol station.
Three men wearing balaclavas then approached the boy and attacked him with a bladed weapon, believed to be a slash hook.
The teenager was rushed to hospital, but his wounds are not believed to be life-threatening.
