Gardaí in Co Donegal have launched an investigation after a man was attacked by a group of armed men on Monday evening.
The investigation comes after the man was attacked at his home in Coneyburrow, Lifford, at approximately 7.30pm on Monday evening.
It is believed that the group of six men armed with bars and hammers then proceeded to attack the man before fleeing the scene.
Gardaí say the man was taken to hospital following the incident, however his injuries are not life-threatening.
They added that they are still trying to determine the motive for the attack and an investigation is currently ongoing.
