Gardai in Waterford have begun an investigation after a man sustained injuries following a stabbing incident in the city.
It is understood that the man aged in his 60s sustained non-life threatening injuries following the incident which occurred at St Herblain Park on Wednesday night.
Gardai say the injured man was taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment.
They also say that a man aged in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the incident.
