Gardaí in Co Kerry have launched an investigation after a man aged in his 30s was seriously assaulted in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The investigation comes after the man sustained serious head injuries during an altercation outside a fast food outlet in Killorglan.
Gardaí say the man who was taken to University Hospital Kerry following the incident which occurred at approximately 2:30am, has since been transferred Cork University Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing and no arrests have yet been made.
