The scheduled three day strike action for some 40,000 nurses’ across the country looks set to go ahead this week.
According to reports, the three day strike which will begin in Tuesday will go ahead as negotiations at the Labour Court have come to a standstill.
It is understood that talks to resolve the ongoing dispute over pay and staffing shortages in the sector have proved fruitless with no concrete deal being submitted.
Although the INMO and the PNA could avert strike action within the next 24 hours, it is looking likely that strike action at number of hospital’s across the country will go ahead as planned.
The latest round of strike action will lead to further hospital appointment cancellations as nurses’ will once again take to the picket lines.
