Gardai in Limerick have launched an investigation after a man was seriously injured following a hit and run incident.
It is understood that the investigation comes the man aged in his 20s was injured after being struck by a car whilst he was on his scooter at a pedestrian crossing in Dooradoyle at approximately 11.20pm last night.
Gardai say the injured man was taken to University Hospital Limerick where he remains in critical condition.
They are appealing for anyone who may have any information to come forward and contact them.
