Gardaí in Co Cork have begun an investigation after a man was allegedly assaulted on Sunday night.
It is understood the investigation comes after the man aged in his 20s sustained head and facial injuries following the attack which occurred on Castle Street in Macroom at approximately 10.40pm.
Gardaí say no arrests have yet been made and an investigation is currently ongoing.
