Gardai in Drogheda Co Louth, have begun an investigation after a taxi driver was injured during a robbery in the early hours of this morning.
It is understood that the investigation comes after the drivrr was attacked by a man who was armed with a hammer at approximately 2:30am this morning.
Gardai say there was a sum of cash taken during the robbery, and the injured driver was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for treatment.
They say the injured man’s injuries are not life threatening and an investigation is currently ongoing.
