There was some sad news announced this evening as the legendary Formula 1 commentator Murray Walker passed away aged 97.
The news of Walker’s death was confirmed by the British Racing Driver’s Club who said: “It’s with great sadness we share the news of the passing of BRDC Associate Member Murray Walker OBE.”
“A friend, a true motorsport legend, the nation’s favourite commentator and a contagious smile.
“We thank Murray for all he has done for our community. RIP our friend.”
Walker had a 50 year career that saw him commentate on a number of key battles in the sport.
