Gardaí in Co Cork have begun an investigation after a young woman was assaulted and robbed over the weekend.
The investigation comes after the 19-year-old woman was knocked to the ground and was assaulted by the assailant who fled the scene with her handbag.
It is understood the incident occurred at approximately 3am Sunday, on the Castle Road, Bandon.
Gardaí say no arrests have yet been made but an investigation is currently ongoing.
