Gardaí in Co Clare have begun an investigation after a young woman was allegedly the victim of a sexual assault.
It is understood the investigation comes after the young woman was allegedly attacked in the Corbally area at approximatley 6.50pm on Thursday evening.
Gardaí say they have been informed of the alleged incident and an investigation is currently ongoing.
They have also issued an appeal to any potential witnesses who may have been in the area at the time to come forward and contact them.
