Good Friday Services have taken place and will be taking place this afternoon and this evening here in Ireland and around the world.
Packed Churches, marking the passing of Jesus by venerating the cross, heard Sermons focused on world peace.
Fr Paddy Nulty said:
“People across the world are having to fight more than ever but the fight is for peace not violence. We need to stand together, united as one people under our Lord God and Savior, Jesus Christ”.
“We’ll also pray for the good people of France and that their expertise can rebuild the sacred and beautiful Notre Dame Cathedral to all its former glory”.
Meanwhile, RTE showed a service from the Chapel of St Patrick’s College, Maynooth, County Kildare.
