Gardaí in Co Donegal have begun an investigation after four armed men broke into house in Drumcairn, Manorcunningham, on Monday evening.
It is understood that the four men who were wearing masks threatened the occupants of the house before ransacking their home.
Gardaí say the incident occurred at approximately 8.15pm, when the men forced their way into the house armed with handguns and batons.
Although no one was seriously injured in the incident, it is believed that the occupants of the house were left badly shaken following the incident.
Gardaí say no arrests have yet been made, but said an investigation is currently ongoing.
