A major investigation is underway following the death of a man aged in his 40s in the centre of Limerick last night.
Gardai have launched an investigation following a fatal assault in an Irish city.
The incident happened on Parnell Street in Limerick on Friday evening.
The victim, a male in his 40s, was rushed to University Hospital Limerick, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
No arrests have been made.
