Gardaí in Co Tipperary have launched an investigation after the head statue of Archbishop Patrick Leahy was decapitated earlier this week.
The investigation comes after the head of the iconic statue which is located outside the Cathedral of the Assumption, Thurles.
Gardaí say they believe incident happened sometime on Wednesday evening or in the early hours of Thursday morning.
